Although not meant to arrive until Friday with the US launch of the iPad 2 iOS 4.3 is available today. You will need to update your iTunes to be able to get it.

I will cover a few key features in separate posts.

Delicious Monster 2

Is a great piece of Cataloging software for the Mac..

Allows you to catalog your CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, Books, Games and much more. There are many ways of adding your collections but the quickest, and my favourite, is using the webcam as a barcode reader. This will allow you to rattle through a collection although I need to play with the lighting at my desk as matt finished books work well but the gloss shine on Blu-rays makes it hard for the camera to detect. It also auto catalogs your iTunes library and has many other features I havent used yet such as the option to sell via online marketplaces straight from the app itself, marking items as loaned to your existing contact list and publishing collections for iOS devices.

I downloaded from the Mac App Store but it’s also available plus more feature information here

The Horde (La Horde)

Is not a bad entry to the Zombie flick genre..

Ok I really don’t get on with running Zombies, much preferring the menace of a zombies ever persistent shambling. However once i got over that, this French (subtitled) tale of cops and gangsters teaming up to escape a building overrun by the recently dead is quite good.

A high 6/10

Master and Commander

Sounds great on Blu-Ray.. It felt like I was in the riggings!

Still as good a film as I remember from it’s cinema and DVD release. Good quality picture but brilliant quality sound.

A high 8/10

Easy A

Is a good high school rom-com..

Emma Stone is good in the lead as chinese whispers ruin her reputation and her life starts to resemble “The Scarlet Letter” she is studying.. Some nice references to Hughes 80s canon in there too..

8/10

Amer

Is a modern homage to Dario Argento and his 60s/70s European Horror peers that gets the tone perfect..

It’s very hypnotic at times and suggestively sensual as it charts the life of a women at 3 different ages but, like the films it mimics it is ultimately a hard watch

So does what it sets out to do 10/10 but for enjoyability a high 6/10

Middle Men

Is a good movie..

Supposedly inspired by true events.. does for internet porn what “The Social Network” did for Facebook.

Borrows a lot from Goodfellas and other similar films but is still enjoyable

Looks great on Blu-Ray and has a cool soundtrack

7/10
